So many deer in my yard

There have been so many deer walking through my yard lately. I think it may be due to the high Seine River level across the street from my house. I think they are trapped on this side and unable to range in the two golf courses and river banks as before. It is a treat to see them. They seem to be very young perhaps a year old males and females travelling in groups of as many as 12 or in groups of 3 to 4.

More wildlife in my yard

This cute deer was looking at me into my livingroom window late last night. Her young fawns were down the sidewalk. It is so cool to see them come in the yard.

On the freedom of Egypt

It brings tears to my eyes to witness the people in Cairo today as their corrupt leader left. The sounds of victory are indeed an amazing thing to hear. I am so proud that there are so many people that will lay down their lives for their country and indeed be there to witness the new days ahead for themselves, their families and for the world. God Bless the people of Egypt.

We've been feeding this cute rabbit all winter and since he or she was tiny. Over the last few weeks of too much snow and cold the poor animals and birds have been suffering. I haven't seen many deer in my yard for a while. It was a releif to go outside today and feel the warm weather which I am sure is a releif for many homeless people living  in our not so fair city. I can't imagine anyone being able to live in the sub zero conditions we live in outside. We can't take for granted how lucky we are to be warm and dry in this changing climate.

Birthday Party

My sister Margaret and celebrated our birthdays yesterday at my brother Steves. Both being Aquarians we share an artistic talent that we are both grateful to have been given. We were both given a task by our sister Sue to make each other a birthday card. It gave us both time to reflect on family and the past. It was very stimulating. Since I have had the flu off and on since before Christmas, it was a time for me to share some time with my brothers and sisters, Mom, my kids and grandchildren. I am very thankful for this.

Looking at my photos.

I found this beautiful eagle by some road kill on the No. 1 highway a year ago. I love it when a bird or animal like this just shows up for me to take a picture.

Skartlet Tanager

This is such a cool bird. It was feeding at a feeder by a cabin we were staying at for a few days in the Whiteshell.

New Years Day 2011

This is two ravens taking a walk on my driveway.  It is a new year and I hope it brings new hope and happiness for everyone. I have had a horrible flu for the past two weeks but I feel I am almost recovered. It takes sickness to realize the beauty of life beyond it and how lucky we are and what a great place we live in.
